Your Guest Speaker, Shellilyn Marie

Shellilyn Marie is currently 35 years old. From birth to 18 years, as a biracial child, she was raised in an all-white foster home with over 170 children that were abused, beaten, tortured, molested, raped, trafficked, neglected and starved, through our foster care systems. Even after having to be stitched from sexual assault at seven years old, no one batted an eye about the abuse and neglect within her home extending over these years.

She has finally overcome the PTSD that it has caused for her to even just write her story, and now would like to describe these chronicles with the creativity possible to express these memoirs, and influence others by her testimony. “Out of the Shadows” greatly impacted Shellilyn to publish her story, because she has also been firsthand witness to some of the perversion by our government, police, and people in power.

This is a huge problem that extends on every level of government. Her and her sibling even have tried to sue but were threatened to stop. The first time Shellilyn has tried to go public about her story was by self-publishing the auto-biographical novel, “Learning to Love,” in 2020. There are power in numbers, and awareness is what we believe will help change the future for others.

“Learning to Love,” is also a project that we are expanding into an audiobook, as well as a screenplay. More broadly, this project is meant to inspire, empower, educate, unite and spread not only awareness, but also help spread love across the world to unite the masses. Injustices must end, and now is the time to take “A Rise Up” to stand up to inspire change, to stop the devastating pandemics of the destruction of life and people on this planet.

For over eight years, Shellilyn has worked as the Board President and CEO of a registered non-profit organization (NGO) helping children transition from the life of trafficking. She has a team of board members and supporters of nearly 40 volunteers that have supported the operations of L.I.F.E.H.O.U.S.E. She has even partnered with local courts to help people complete community service hours through her programs.

Shellilyn has been granted court appointed custody and have had the privilege to support over a dozen children through her very own home, and this mission. All these gains, and only with the support of a single mother’s salary. There are always ways to do things, it just takes the courage to not stop trying. Shellilyn is also an activist for social and racial justice, and our civil liberties. “In the end you should always do the right thing, even if it’s hard.”

And that’s what she intends to do, as well as inspires others to “A Rise Up!”
